MEET THE 2026 EXECUTIVE BOARD


PRESIDENT
Lorena Anderson, SCCP

Lorena is from Clemson, South Carolina and earned her first Associates in Arts degree in 2014 and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 2016. Lorena then earned her degree in Paralegal Studies from Greenville Tech in 2020. Lorena is also Chairperson of the South Carolina Paralegal Seminar Committee, hosted by the South Carolina Bar. 

Prior to working as a paralegal, Lorena spent a little over twelve years in the service industry as a bartender, server and everything in between. She and her husband of over 5 years are proud dog parents to Samuel L. Dog and Deanie Anderson. In her spare time, she truly enjoys being an aunt, volunteering in any capacity, spending time with family, going to sporting events, music and movies. 
 
​Lorena is the 2024 SCUPA Paralegal of the Year.

Laura is a Greenville native who graduated from the Fine Arts Center and Wade Hampton High School. She moved to Long Island to attend C.W. Post, Long Island University, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Arts. Laura started her career in NYC, working for ten years at Greenberg Traurig, LLP, and later at the NFL as a trademark paralegal. She returned to Greenville to be closer to family and in the hopes of raising kids with a southern drawl. Currently Laura works at Parker Poe as a trademark paralegal and has been a SCUPA member since 2024.

​When not at work, Laura and her husband can be spotted moonlighting as chauffeurs headed to swim lessons, Girl Scouts, and school functions for their two little girls. Laura enjoys going to waterparks and apple orchards with the family and friends when seasonally appropriate. Most of all, she loves reading at bedtime with her girls.

​Cyndi is a South Carolina native and has lived in Greenville for the last 10 years.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English with an emphasis in Communications from Columbia College in 1992 and her Paralegal Certificate from Midlands Technical College in 2007.  She is currently a Commercial Real Estate Paralegal and has been with Parker Poe Law Firm since 2021.

Prior to working as a paralegal, Cyndi spent 25+ years working in the Banking industry with Commercial Lending and Commercial Real Estate teams.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, concerts, traveling, reading and going to sporting events.

Though new to the Upstate, Taquasia brings years of experience as a seasoned paralegal,​ legal entrepreneur, and family law advocate passionate about supporting children and families through Guardian ad Litem work and family court mediation in the South Carolina legal system. She is the founder of TMH Para Support Services, LLC, where she provides high-quality virtual paralegal support with a focus on family law litigation. Committed to professional growth and advocacy, she also volunteers in family law initiatives and mentors the next generation of legal professionals. 

Taquasia is currently earning a Master’s in Legal Studies with a focus on Family and Children’s Law.
When she’s not advocating for families, she enjoys newlywed life, exploring oyster bars, perfecting her craft as a self-proclaimed serial baker and kitchen connoisseur, and spending time with her beloved Shih Tzu, Phoebe.

Danielle is a Greenville native now living in Greenville and a Legal Assistant at Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, P.A. She has been a committed member of SCUPA for three years and currently serves on the Board as Secretary. Danielle earned her degree in Paralegal Studies from Greenville Technical College, where she worked as the Paralegal Program Student Assistant, served as a Peer Leader, and actively supported the campus Food Pantry. Her dedication to academics and leadership earned her several honors, including the President’s Award, the Phi Theta Kappa All State Academic Award, the Legal Staff Professionals of South Carolina Award, and the F. M. Rogers Leadership Award.
 
Danielle continues to stay connected to Greenville Technical College as a member of the Paralegal Program Advisory Committee. She enjoys giving back to the program that shaped her career and supporting future paralegals as they navigate their education and early professional steps.
 
Outside of her work in the legal field, Danielle is a devoted mom to her daughter Maeve and shares her home with her dachshund mix, Belly. A fun fact is that she is a lifelong science fiction fan who loves collecting Alien franchise memorabilia and growing her massive band shirt collection.
 
Danielle is passionate about community, mentorship, and strengthening the paralegal profession, and she brings that same spirit to her service within SCUPA.

Jenn is a Docketing Specialist at Ogletree Deakins with over a decade of active involvement in the paralegal profession. A proud member of SCUPA since 2012, she has remained committed to professional growth and service within the legal community.

​Outside of her professional role, Jenn serves as a volunteer Guardian ad Litem—work she considers her true passion and calling in advocating for children.

​Wendy  is a transplant to the Greenville area from her home town of  Denver, Colorado. She graduated from the University of Colorado at Denver with a BA in English and earned her paralegal degree from Denver Paralegal Institute. She has worked as an insurance defense litigation paralegal for over 15 years. Wendy is married and enjoys vacationing, reading, bike riding and gardening.

​Dorothy is a Greenville Native and a Certified Paralegal at McAngus Goudelock & Courie (MGC) working in Insurance Defense Litigation since 2006.  She graduated from Greenville Technical College with an Associate Degree in Arts in 1995 and an Associate Degree in Paralegal in 2000.  Dorothy has been a continuous member of SCUPA (including during its former name GALA) since 2001 and has held numerous positions on the Board, including 2 terms as President, Vice-President, Programs and NALA Liaison.  She also served on the Seminar Committee for a number of years, as well as the Pro Bono Committee. 

​In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family and husband, reading and volunteering
