The GTC Paralegal Department is a long-time, proud sustaining member of the South Carolina Upstate Paralegal Association (SCUPA) and is an institutional member of the American Association for Paralegal Education (AAfPE). It is one of the four longest-running paralegal programs in the United States.
This local program is approved by the American Bar Association (ABA) and taught by licensed attorneys in good standing in South Carolina and by certified paralegals.
Many of the courses are project oriented and offer hands-on experience, including litigation, title examination, and legal research.
Students can begin the program in Fall, Spring or Summer; classes are offered day or evening, and several are available online. Students who have a bachelor's degree are able to complete Greenville Tech's associate degree in as little as a year.
Paralegal Career Nights are offered every semester for those interested in learning more about the program and the career field. If you are interested in furthering your education by taking one course or the entire program, please call the Paralegal Department at (864) 250-8162.
The GTC Paralegal Department serves as a certified testing site for the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) Certified Paralegal exam. The test is offered electronically in the department lab over a two-day period in January, May, and September.
The department also teaches a review course for the NALA exam on Tuesday nights each fall, beginning in mid-August. If you are interested in this course, contact Elizabeth Mann at (864) 250-8491.
