Lorena is from Clemson, South Carolina and earned her first Associates in Arts degree in 2014 and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 2016. Lorena then earned her degree in Paralegal Studies from Greenville Tech in 2020. Lorena is also Chairperson of the South Carolina Paralegal Seminar Committee, hosted by the South Carolina Bar.
Prior to working as a paralegal, Lorena spent a little over twelve years in the service industry as a bartender, server and everything in between. She and her husband of over 5 years are proud dog parents to Samuel L. Dog and Deanie Anderson. In her spare time, she truly enjoys being an aunt, volunteering in any capacity, spending time with family, going to sporting events, music and movies.
Lorena is the 2024 SCUPA Paralegal of the Year.
Prior to working as a paralegal, Lorena spent a little over twelve years in the service industry as a bartender, server and everything in between. She and her husband of over 5 years are proud dog parents to Samuel L. Dog and Deanie Anderson. In her spare time, she truly enjoys being an aunt, volunteering in any capacity, spending time with family, going to sporting events, music and movies.

Charles Myers is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of dedicated service in the military, where they served as the Chief Paralegal for the South Carolina Army National Guard (SCARNG) and worked as an Employee Relations Specialist. Over the course of their career, Charles Myers has developed extensive expertise in Federal Employment Law, assisting more than 10,000 soldiers with legal issues, and providing them with the support needed to navigate the complexities of military life and federal regulations.
Charles Myers’ educational journey began at North Greenville University, followed by specialized paralegal studies at Auburn University. This foundation laid the groundwork for a career that blended military service with legal expertise. As Chief Paralegal for the SCARNG, Charles Myers oversaw various legal matters, ensuring compliance and offering crucial counsel to soldiers throughout their military careers. Additionally, as an Employee Relations Specialist, Charles Myers focused on creating a positive work environment, resolving conflicts, and providing insights on federal employment policies.

Cyndi is a South Carolina native and has lived in Greenville for the last 10 years. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English with an emphasis in Communications from Columbia College in 1992 and her Paralegal Certificate from Midlands Technical College in 2007. She is currently a Commercial Real Estate Paralegal and has been with Parker Poe Law Firm since 2021.
Prior to working as a paralegal, Cyndi spent 25+ years working in the Banking industry with Commercial Lending and Commercial Real Estate teams. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, concerts, traveling, reading and going to sporting events.

Heather is a Greenville transplant from Minneapolis, Minnesota and currently a Medical Malpractice Defense Paralegal. She graduated from Greenville Technical College with an Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies in 2010. On her days off, she enjoys traveling and chasing waterfalls. When she is not hiking the trails, she likes the challenge of a good game of billiards or cards. Spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, is also at the top of her list.
Paula was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, so she cheers for all teams black and gold: Steelers, Penguins and Pirates. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Penn State University. Paula worked for over ten years as an insurance claims adjuster before relocating to Greenville in 2014. Paula earned a post-graduate degree in paralegal studies from Greenville Technical College. Following graduation, she has worked in a variety of areas, including probate, social security disability and construction law. She currently works as a personal injury paralegal, which she enjoys because she is passionate about helping clients. Paula is married and has two children, ages 16 and 20. In her spare time she likes to camp, hike, read, cook, participate in game nights and enjoy a good glass of wine with friends.

Wendy is a transplant to the Greenville area from her home town of Denver, Colorado. She graduated from the University of Colorado at Denver with a BA in English and earned her paralegal degree from Denver Paralegal Institute. She has worked as an insurance defense litigation paralegal for over 15 years. Wendy is married and enjoys vacationing, reading, bike riding and gardening.

Dorothy is a Greenville Native and a Certified Paralegal at McAngus Goudelock & Courie (MGC) working in Insurance Defense Litigation since 2006. She graduated from Greenville Technical College with an Associate Degree in Arts in 1995 and an Associate Degree in Paralegal in 2000. Dorothy has been a continuous member of SCUPA (including during its former name GALA) since 2001 and has held numerous positions on the Board, including 2 terms as President, Vice-President, Programs and NALA Liaison. She also served on the Seminar Committee for a number of years, as well as the Pro Bono Committee. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family and husband, reading and volunteering
